Week 2 - 15 April 2020

 

Phakding to Namche Bazaar: 7.4km, 4 hours, 720 floors

Welcome to stage 2 of Zoom to EBC!  Stage 1 was an easy peasy 540 floors but it gets tougher with Stage 2 ...

 

720 floors or an average of 103 floors per day over 7 days starting from 15 April 2020.

​

The heaving breathing and swearing gets louder as the trek to Namche Bazaar gets steeper.  The yaks have mysteriously dropped out of sight - could they still be lurking behind the trees?

​

As you pant helplessly, you suddenly hear a shout - "I see her! It's her!" No guys it not your dream girl...

That's when you get to see Mount Everest for the first time with your very own eyes.  Wow.....pin drop moment.

​

And soon after gingerly crossing several sky-high swaying rope bridges,  the Shopping Capital of Khumbu appears in the horizon.  Just like the legendary Shangri-La, Namche Bazaar beckons the ladies (and men too) with her shops glistening with souvenirs, books, chic cafes and yes hair salons!
